| Today, we held a presentation contest separated by theme. For the whole year, students have worked on problems facing local communities, based on eight different themes. They came up with their own solution to the problems they chose through two fieldworks: fieldwork in Morioka, Iwate and fieldwork in Kansai region. We welcomed guests who have supported our inquiry and NPO Katariba to give our students keen suggestions. First, in nine separate rooms designated with a different theme, our students gave their short presentations in front of the guests and other groups sharing the same theme. After each presentation, guests gave them a comment to make their solutions more practical and effective. Second, we held a big workshop with all students at Hakua Hall. NPO Katariba gave a lecture on making practical action plans and enjoying inquiry activities to the whole students. Then they gave our students time to improve their action plans. They also joined in the discussion freely and encouraged our students to improve their work. This coming spring, our students will put their solution into practice. Then our inquiry activity of this school year ends. In the next school year, with inquiry method learned through the experience this time, they will choose another theme again. |
