| SG Fieldwork in Kansai Region | |
| Dec. 3 Monday Morning The first-year students had a school trip from November 30 to December 4. On Dec. 3 Monday, we conducted SG fieldwork in Kansai region, mainly in Kyoto. The purpose of this fieldwork is to compare the knowledge we learned through the fieldwork in Morioka, Iwate with the reality in another area, and to find out a more valid and effective plan to activate local areas. Splitting up in seventy groups, our students visited fifty places such as municipal government offices, city halls, business establishments, and experts. Those who welcomed our students gave them beneficial and profound suggestions, based on their professional perspectives rooted in characteristics of Kansai regional customs and one of the most traditional and economically advanced industrial cities in Japan. Circumstances surrounding each region - Kansai is much larger - are very different; however, by making the knowledge relative, our students can consider the status quo in our hometown more profoundly. Some students could also get the go-ahead to projects they can apply even to the small municipalities. Here, we would like to express our gratitude to those who welcomed our students! |
