| Our Global Inquiry Activities has begun for first year students this school year. So far they have considered what globalization is or the relationship between local cities and the world. At the very beginning of the three-year-activities, we conduct a set of study programs called Regional Revitalization Program, in cooperation with Morioka city municipal government. First, Noriko Deno, a lecturer at the Tohoku University of Art And Design, gave us a short lecture on what will happen to Japan in the next 20 years, and gave some examples of what high school students in other regions do to solve problems faced by local communities. Then we held a talk session conducted by Ms. Deno with two graduates of this high school and two senior students. During the session, first year students asked many critical questions to them and the panelists answered them sincerely and profoundly. Thanks to their lively discussion, first year students came to understand a general idea of what they are going to do and were motivated to proceed with their own inquiry activities. |
