| Today, we welcomed many guests outside of our school and held a presentation of Global Inquiry in English. Delegate groups from each course gave a major presentation in English. After each presentation, our guests, especially exchange students from Iwate University, asked questions in English. Our students did their best to understand what they wanted to know and answer appropriately. The exchange students were from various countries: the U.S., Nigeria, Kenya, and Bangladesh. Thanks to them, we could set up a genuine global stage here in Morioka. Their English could be called "Englishes" - their ways of speaking in English were reflected very much by their own mother tongues. It was a very good opportunity for our students to understand the profoundness and variety of English. At the end of the event, Mr. Murao gave a short comment on their performance. He appreciated our students' efforts and their high achievement. Could this project give something good to our students? The answer will be shown some years later, when our students play important roles on the global stage in the future. We wish the experience they had here would contribute to what they will promise to the future world. Thank you all for your nice cooperation! |
