| Today, 2nd grade students welcomed Ms. Yamazaki, a professor of Iwate University from the Faculty of Education. She gave a lecture on research methods. First, she insisted that it was important to question the ordinary situations in our daily life and set a hypothesis in their studies. Second, she also argued that connecting global issues with local issues is essential when we think about globalization. Third, she claimed that they should make more efforts to complete their inquiries and focus on the purpose while working on their activities. Finally, she introduced the results of her recent study to them. It was about the analyses of school songs in Iwate coastal areas. She found that each song had much to do with local cultures and customs. Her lecture was really impressive to our students. |
